Favorite place to run in LA: Manhattan/Hermosa Beach Strand
Why did you start running? My first race was the 2008 Manhattan Beach 10K in 7th grade, and my goal was to complete the race without walking. I ended up placing 4th in my age division that year and 1st in my age division the next year. That led me to join the cross country team in high school and to come back 10 years later to take the overall win at the MB10K in 2018.

Favorite place to run:
I love the bike path along the beach!
Why did you start running?
I didn't know how to drive during undergrad, so I ran everywhere — to the beach, to the mall, to meet up with friends. Running made me feel like a video game character, and I unlocked many LA neighborhoods along the way!

You'll catch me reading, cooking/baking, or building legos!
Favorite Workout:
2km repeats @ 10k pace
Favorite Hot Sauce:
Sriracha
How I identify within BIPOC:
I immigrated from China when I was 9 years old, so my identity is a mix of Chinese upbringing and learning how to be American. I'm lucky to be surrounded by the large and supportive BIPOC community in Los Angeles! :)

Favorite place to run in LA? This one is tough! LA has so many beautiful places to explore whether road or trail. Zuma and Santa Ynez have that magical touch of complete solitude in beautiful vegetation. The poison oak is worth it
Why did you start running? I started running in high school because I needed to pick an elective. My options were cross country and circuit training: Circuit training sounded like it involved math so I opted for cross country without knowing what it was either.
Where to find me when I’m not running? When I’m not running, I’m teaching at a Pilates studio or collecting dogs and cats.
Favorite workout: I enjoy ladder workouts.
